Message in a Bottle is a simple idea enabling people to keep their personal and medical details on a standard form in a common location – THE FRIDGE!!

What is message in a bottle?

Message in a bottle is a small white plastic container with a lid. With this you get a form and 2 stickers with green crosses on.

What do I have to do?

On the form you or anyone can fill in all your details of any medication you are currently taking, any allergies you may have, and the names and contact numbers of your relatives or neighbours who can be contacted if you become ill. And the details of your GP.

Where do I keep it?

Once you have filled in the form you put the form in the container, put the lid on and put it in your fridge. In the door rack is a very suitable place.

How will people know about this.

With the bottle come 2 stickers with green crosses on. You stick one on the outside of your fridge and the other one on your front door.

Who knows about this system?

All the emergency services know about this system Ambulance, Police and the Fire Brigade, so if they are called they can retrieve the bottle from the fridge and will have some knowledge of what may be the cause of you falling ill, but most importantly know your medication and allergies which will help in them giving you any medical assistance so could save your life. It is also a good idea to tell your close neighbours about it as well.

The most important thing to do is keep the form up dated such as any change in medication etc.

Who can have one?

Anyone, any age, who feels they may be vulnerable or is perhaps living on their own, and dependent on medication.
